On March 17, 2018, Toffee arrived at the shelter, brought in by his guardian who found it challenging to care for him due to frequent travels. Despite our efforts to explain that shelter life might not suit a dog accustomed to a home, it seemed futile.
A year later, Toffee found a temporary home with a single mom and her two young children. Unfortunately, after just ten days, he returned to us due to family complications and safety concerns.
But in August 2019, fate intervened once again. Toffee’s current family, searching for a furry friend for their teenage daughter, stumbled upon our shelter. Azadeh, Toffee’s current mom, picks up the tale from there:
“At my daughter’s insistence, we visited Vafa Shelter. Little did we know, our lives were about to change. While I initially chose a poodle, my daughter had her eyes set on another dog – Toffee.
Toffee & Proshot
In a moment seemingly orchestrated by destiny, Toffee, sitting quietly in a corner, locked eyes with my daughter, Proshot. From that instant, Proshot couldn’t stop talking about Toffee. And so, we welcomed him into our family.
With Ms. Azari’s guidance, we navigated the process, though it coincided with my mother’s illness. Toffee’s arrival was delayed until after we sadly lost her in October.
But in November, Toffee finally entered our lives, becoming a source of comfort during our darkest days. Today, our home feels incomplete without him.”
Toffee’s journey from the shelter to his forever home is a testament to resilience, love, and the transformative power of adoption. 🐾❤️
