The history of International Homeless Animals’ Day goes back to 1992. Since that time this important day has helped thousands of animals around the world.

Animals protection organizations and concerned individuals from all over the world come together on the third Saturday of August each year to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation epidemic. Some activities on this day often include adopt a pet event, spay/neuter events, help a stray event and many many more!

By coming together on International Homeless Animals’ Day you can let the world know you will not tolerate the senseless killing that continues to take the lives of innocent dogs and cats.
Together, we will continue to be a voice for the animals and continue to demand an end to the suffering these animals face each day.
What do you do to help homeless animals?
