Report from Vafa Shelter – Mashhad  (Dated July 19, 2010)

At request of Ms Emami, on 25th of Tir Dr. Abedi and Ms EsnaAshari went for a visit to Vafa Shelter in Mashhad. Within only two days, 43 female dogs were spayed. These were not only dogs who reside at the shelter but also those who roam the surrounding lands and enjoy the fringe benefits of the kind neighbors. Since last year, the shelter has been improved in many ways. To mention some; now they have electricity, water pumps, shades, and large pool for the dogs to play in and cool down. Drinking water canals have been built. They have purchased a pickup truck, and a water tanker to reserve water for drinking and cooking the dogs foods on the days of shortage.

As of today, there are about 70 healthy dogs who live together in peace. Many thanks to Mrs Forough Emami and Mr Abachi who has joined Ms Emami since last month.  This shelter will be able to stand on its feet with help of animal supporters, both financially and physically.

For more information and to offer your help, please contact Ms Emami by calling her at: 0936-226-4999 or 0915-502-2694 and/or email:nasemshahidi@yahoo.com You can always contact us at info@cal.ir and please refer to Vafa-Mashhad if you are inquiring about this location.
