Who We Are?
Founded in 2004, the Vafa Animal Shelter is the first animal shelter in Iran. We are dedicated to providing help and shelter to injured and homeless animals in Iran. The Vafa shelter is a non-government charity organization relying solely on private donations and volunteers.
We are located in the town of Hashtgerd, about an hour and a half west of Tehran on the road to Ghazvin.
The Vafa Animal Shelter was put together with the hard work of Fatemeh Motamedi, who has a deep love for animals of all shapes and sizes, and who donated her land and organized the building of the shelter with her own funds.
At present, the shelter is run by helping a group of devoted volunteers and caring veterinarians who donate much of their services. The shelter is currently home to over 600 dogs.
وفا یک سازمان نیکوکاری غیر دولتی است که با کمکهای مردمی دو پناهگاه حیوانات در هشتگرد و قزوین را با بیش از 1000 سگ اداره میکند. و به عنوان یک نهاد غیر انتفاعی نیکوکارانه به هیچ گروه سیاسی، عرفی و مذهبی وابسته نیست.
What we Do
خدماتی که در پناهگاه انجام می شود شامل زنده گیری، پذیرش، جداسازی، واکسیناسیون، درمان زخمها، شکستگیها و بیماریها، عقیم سازی و واگذاری است.
امور درمانی پناهگاه توسط تیم دامپزشکان و تکنیسین های دامپزشکی انجام میگیرد.
اگرچه بخشی از خدمات وفا پذیرش سگ های آسیب دیده و توله های بی مادر است، اما ظرفیت پناهگاه نیز محدود است. “وفا” باور دارد که رفاه حیوانات شامل رسیدگی پزشکی، تأمین غذا و سرپناه برای آنهاست، و می بایستی با درنظر داشتن توان مالی و انسانی، امر پذیرش انجام شود.
“وفا” با گردآوردن انبوهی از سگ ها در یک محوطه در حالی که امکان جست و خیز و بازی و غذای کافی برای خوردن نداشته باشند، مخالف است و باور دارد که این کار “وفا” را از هدف اش که زندگی با کیفیت برای این موجودات مهربان و باهوش است، دور می کند.

كانون دوستداران حيوانات و پناهگاه وفا يك سازمان خيريه غير دولتي است كه فقط به كمك هاي مردمي و خدمات داوطلبانه اتكا دارد. خدمات ما در اين سازمان تنها به دليل پشتيباني و هداياي مالي شما ادامه يافته است. از سال 1384 تا كنون، ما راه درازي را پيموده ايم و به موفقيت هاي زيادي رسيده ايم. در حال حاضر، پناهگاه ميزبان بیش از 400 سگ است كه بدون كمك هاي مردمي براي پوشش دادن هزينه هاي غذا، مسكن، دارو، مراقبت هاي درماني ،اداره پناهگاه امكان پذير نخواهد بود.
