Today, on December 5th, recognized by the United Nations as International Volunteer Day,

we honor the unsung heroes of Vafa Animal Shelter—our amazing volunteers! Rain or shine, hot or cold, these selfless individuals travel the long dirt road to the shelter, lending a helping hand with walking, grooming, shelter renovations, painting, and more. Some volunteers are even thousands of kilometers away, in Canada and beyond, dedicating their time and resources to bring joy to our furry friends.

A heartfelt thank you to these incredible men and women, who, alongside our devoted shelter management, have been the backbone of Vafa for almost two decades. Your dedication keeps the flame of volunteerism burning brightly, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of our beloved animal residents. Thank you for being the guiding light in our journey toward a compassionate and caring world for all creatures.
