A group of volunteers visited VAFA Animal Shelter and helped with cleaning and spraying the dens. One of the mothers had given birth to seven puppies a few days ago and five puppies were brought to the shelter because their mother had died by the road.

A den was cleaned out and prepared for them by the volunteers. The nursery, regardless of events elsewhere, needs much attention. The volunteers prepared food and fed the mothers, puppies, the older puppies, and the sick dogs.

Then they diluted oil of oregano with water and sprayed the dens, the mothers, and the puppies, taking care not to spray the eyes, nose, and mouths.

This method has proved to work well so far and there was a great amount of reduction in ticks since last week when they were sprayed for the first round.
