02 October 2012
The original Animal day was established in 1931 in a biology conference in Florence, Italy , in order to protect endangered species all over the world.
But the designation of the new 4th of October date is based on the Feast Day of St Francis Assisi who dedicated his life in service of animals. Therefore, this day is not dedicated only to the endangered species any more, but all the animals and their right to co exist with human beings. The on-going cruelty against animals has been wrongfully neglected and understanding of general public about such cases and introduction of new methods to bringing peace and comfort to these creatures is an important part of human interface with the changing world.
Let us come together to celebrate such a wonderful beginning , and help to bring such understanding on a global scale from anywhere we reside.
