Brace yourself for my amazing story! My name is Brown. I was brought to the shelter as a very sick puppy with severe digestive disease that left me with a heart condition that will stay with me for life. I remember that first day at the shelter as I was thinking how I could survive amongst so many dogs, Ms. Zarrin asked one of the volunteers if he would take me home with him since I needed special care, and he agreed. He held me in his arms right away and took me home with him. I didn’t know that he had taken in two other little abandoned puppies the week before.

We were all so happy to meet and become playmates. They are Khepel (chubby) and Zebel (smarty). They both live up to their names, Khepel is mellow and cuddly, and Zebel is always bossing every one around and is very observant. The three of us keep ourselves very busy all day as we dig, chew and even destroy new plants and watermelon and cantaloupe beds. One day the car door was left open and we even explored things in there. I destroyed a pair of glasses while Khepel and Zebel raided some documents. That, was fun!One of Khepel’s talents is to open doors. As soon as we are home alone he picks at the door handle and we get in the room like a wrecking ball and do as we are pleased. But none of this has stopped us from being invited to our daddy’s birthday party. But here is the story I promised you. One day Khepel and Zebel were bored and against my advise left the property via a pipeline, and were stolen right away. When our daddy got home he got very worried and the two of us went looking for them. I worked like an experienced search dog, listened and sniffed our way to the property where my brothers were being held. Luckily the door was open and we tiptoed in there. Soon, we saw that Zebel was running to us and then made sure that we followed him to were Khepel was tied to a tree. Apparently the dog thief was able to detain Khepel who is slower but could not catch Zebel. And Zebel would not leave his trapped brother behind. As soon as Khepel was free the four of us ran to safety as fast as we could and huddled joyfully. Our daddy talks about my skills and Zebels loyalty all the time. My brothers and I have found our forever home and are very happy. My life is full of heroes. I even have grandparents who love me and make sure I take my daily medications. My parents have to take me to my monthly visits with the vet. I will never forget the sad days that my daddy stayed with me patiently while I was connected the IV.I will never find the word to show my gratitude for the heroes and blessings of my happy life.
