Iran is going through extremely difficult times. The war we are caught in brings bombardment, explosions, death, and destruction.

Alongside all this suffering, there is also a sharp rise in prices, food shortages, and unsafe roads that make travel difficult.

In these conditions, we, volunteers who run two animal shelters caring for about 1,500 dogs, must think not only about our own safety and our families, but also about securing the shelter’s essential supplies—something that is absolutely vital and cannot stop even for a single day.

We ask our supporters to please keep us in your thoughts. In these circumstances of bombardment, we do not expect support from people inside the country. But we kindly ask our friends abroad not to withhold your financial help. Prices have risen dramatically in just the past two weeks, and we are truly overwhelmed.

We are doing everything we can to keep Iran’s first animal shelter open after 21 years of continuous work. Please help us in this effort. Our capacity is not limitless.

With hope for better days for our country. 🙏

For now, Friends of Vafa in Canada manages Vafa’s social media pages and delivers your support to the shelter. Without your help, the shelter cannot survive.
