An animal-loving family that didn’t believe in sterilization brought nine small-breed dogs to the shelter a few years ago due to problems with the neighbors. We sterilized all of them. All were adopted except Michelle, who is in the shelter. Teddy was one of them.
He is well-mannered and calm, and his relationship with the children is excellent. Still, in the few attempts at adoption, Teddy went back and forth, we found out that Teddy chose his place to live, and if Teddy didn’t like the new location, he would make them return him to the shelter by deliberately peeing at home. We found out that he did not like the places where mischievous and busy young children surrounded him in a small house.
Three times he went to a new home and returned. In the fourth house, it took a few days for Teddy to make his final decision whether he liked it or not! He didn’t do anything wrong. After a few days passed, Teddy finally expressed his satisfaction and decided to stay there! He showed his true character, a good and listenable guy with a calm spirit.
Teddy was adopted in the middle of March 2022 by a lovely family who lives in the Hashtgerd. Everything was going well, but suddenly, two or three weeks after being in the new home, during the Nowruz holiday, Teddy fell seriously ill and suffered from digestive problems. We were worried that the new family couldn’t deal with this problem and return him to the shelter, but this family is very knowledgeable. They were dealing with Teddy’s illness all the holidays. They were not tired of going to the clinic daily and looking to buy medication for him. They were apprehensive about Teddy, and honestly, so were we. The illness was severe, and Teddy was sick. Teddy’s recovery was slow. However, the new family worked hard for him and tolerated his condition until he finally recovered. It’s been a year, and everything is going well.
Teddy is pleased now.
